Sample post: How to write and publish a post

1 min read

An open notebook with handwriting, a pen and a small potted plant on a wooden desk.

This is a sample post. Edit it to practise, then delete it before the site goes live.

Writing a new post takes four things: a title, a cover picture (optional), the post itself, and the Publish button. Everything else is optional.

Starting a new post

  1. In the Studio, tap Posts, then the + button at the top.
  2. Type your Title.
  3. Under Web address, tap Generate. It makes the address from your title.
  4. Add a Cover picture if you have one, and describe it in a short sentence.
  5. Write your post in the big Post box.
  6. Tap Publish. Your post is on the website a few seconds later.

The optional fields

Date published is today unless you change it. When you add an old post from your previous blog, set the date it was first published, so it appears in the right place in the list.

Short summary is the one or two sentences shown under the title in the blog list. If you leave it empty, the website uses the first few lines of your post.

Changing a post later

Open the post, make your changes, and tap Publish again. Until you publish, your changes are a draft that only you can see.

You can also change the words on the Home page, the About page and the Contact page from the Studio sidebar.
